One of the star announcements of this weeks Genera solar show in Madrid, the new module has been announced by Trina Solar.
The company is producing two versions of the module, including a standard mono-facial product with white backsheet upto 445wp and 22.3% quoted efficiency.. The second product is a 'n-type' dual-glass/bi-facial module with upto 435w front-side output power from it's i-TOPCon 210mm cells, with a quoted efficiency of 21.8%.
When it comes to selecting solar modules for rooftops, installers and their customers are looking for three things: Maximum power output from limited space; trouble-free installation and operations over decades; and good looks on the roof. This is precisely where Trina Solar’s new Vertex S+ series comes into play. The company believes this represents a big step forward for rooftop solar business, combining durability, performance, aesthetics, and peace of mind.
Vertex S+ is the first rooftop module from Trina to feature a robust dual-glass structure, replacing the plastic backsheet with a second layer of glass. Both versions feayture a surface area of under two square meters and a black frame.
According to Trina Solar: Vertex S+ will greatly help installers with a solid value proposition, enabling them to offer customers the best investment in terms of guaranteed and increased solar power. Featuring an innovative lightweight dual-glass structure, it has superior performance and safety benefits. By introducing more glass, the use of plastic is reduced, and durability increased, extending the life and recyclability of the panel.
We do not yet have confirmation from Trina about when the module will hit UK wholesalers or projects - but we understand that production has already begun at one of their plants in China.
