Spotlight on Low Carbon Energy

Low Carbon Energy Company is a solar installation business known in the industry for it’s determination. It’s a family-owned business that focuses on quality and consistency, a stance which has resulted in some prestigious clients, projects and awards over the years.

Managing Director Ged Ennis and his team have delivered some stunning projects in the past. The business seeks out Commercial projects ranging from 100KW through to multi MW installations where it feels it adds value to it’s end clients, using high-quality engineering and products. The end result is to maximise yields by having a long-term approach.

By it’s own calculation the business believes it’s already saved it’s clients approximately £9.45m in electricity cost reduction, and 15.75m tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions saved from creating power onsite – the equivalent of planting 315,000 trees.

A possible perfect example of this: Low Carbon Energy successfully delivered a 2.7MW rooftop project for online retail giant Boohoo PLC at it’s Burnley distribution centre. This is a flagship ecommerce business that’s doubling down on it’s sustainability efforts, and using Low Carbon Energy they could quickly achieve this through onsite solar. This was a seriously impressive project which Ged and his team believes was the largest single SolarEdge project carried out in the UK at the time of installation , along with Q Cells modules.

Other high-profile projects include a 2MW Rooftop project on a ComputaCentre PLC Data centre, 0.9MW rooftop for one of the largest UK furniture businesses Coach House, and 249kw at BMW car dealership Soper of Lincoln. Other clients include Network Rail, Boeing, NHS and Hilton.

It’s clear that Low Carbon Energy is committed to high-quality installations – as the industry grows to new highs in commercial solar deployment so too does the ambition of solar business like Ged’s. “We are in a great place to help serve our commercial customers with low cost, clean energy at scale... “...Our challenge is keeping pace with demand. We need great people to grow our installation capacity and that starts with hiring a brilliant, ambitious Operations Director” - Ged Ennis, Low Carbon Energy Company.

Ged and his team would like to hear from you if you think you are ready for your next challenge. “There’s a lot of opportunity within this business to create winning attitudes and processes as we grow. Our pipeline of projects is ready, we need help to deliver it at scale”. Ged is also keen to emphasise that Low Carbon Energy is on a mission. Not just to create a business on it’s corporate rooftop roots, but to “Inspire change today, that protects future generations”. This is woven into the core of it’s business and is fundamental to it's success in delivering sustainable energy to it's customers. Ged adds "We care about our staff and want to work to meet their professional and personal ambitions. We support all our staff with in house training and clearly defined personal development plans"
